Post-Jam Update


I added some polish to the game over the past 2 days.

  • Some added SFX (not great, but they fill in some blanks)
  • Painted environment tiles
  • Parallax background
  • FINAL BOSS - relatively simple giant scaled melee enemy that makes the game even harder hooray!
  • the Bomb has some of its own (very slow) momentum, meaning it's possible to complete the game solo (though it's a slog)
  • You can ride on top of the bomb!
  • Ranged enemies aim from their weapon origin (beware!)
  • RagTagRadical Logo (LOOK AT MY HORRIBLE FACE)
  • Dashing hurts enemies
  • More heads
  • Fixed freeze bug with object collision
  • Fixed detonation not occurring when on player 2+

I learned how to do tiles in Gamemaker (finally after 3 years), and found it to be a lot of fun.

I created a pretty rough image, and then I broke it down in gamemaker into 32x32 tiles, finding different shapes and patterns out of repetitive tiles.  It was actually really satisfying painting the landscape from this single sheet.
